2nd Year - USC Marshall - Upcoming MBA Related Events - September 2009
Haven't written in a while since I wrapped up my summer internship at GE Healthcare out in Milwaukee. Between driving home, moving into my apartment, starting 2nd year at USC Marshall, and running Net Impact, blogging definitely took a back seat. But I am back!
Recap: summer internship at GE Healthcare was awesome! After driving for 2,000 miles across middle America making my way from Los Angeles to Milwaukee, I obviously didn't know what to expect. To my surprise, Milwaukee is a fun town and a great city to explore over the summer. It even made Forbe's list at #9 for the Best Cities for Singles. Now #2 for nightlife might be a bit generous, but we certainly found our fair share of things to do around the city.
Going into this internship I had a couple of key goals - 1) broad understanding of healthcare industry and challenges, 2) specific knowledge of B2B marketing, 3) ecomagination and GE’s commitment to sustainability. Through my 4 projects, my head was spinning in healthcare terminologies and acronyms. In the process, I did learn a couple of things from this summer about the ECLP program and GE in general. With this internship, I am definitely taking away a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be applicable for this upcoming year.

Now, 2nd year is interesting and a bit odd. My schedule is all over the board since I'm taking a bunch of elective courses. Classes doesn't start until 12:30pm MW and 2:00pm TTH. I find myself with a lot of free time - at least for the first two weeks. That will certainly change soon enough. I have two interviews coming up this week and National Black coming up next week. We also had our 1st community kickoff event for Net Impact last week and had a packed room! There is definitely a lot of interest this year and our club continues to grow.
Anyway, there are a couple of great upcoming events this month you should definitely check out.
